I used TLC935, Beverly's Surprise Heart Fold, which I didn't get to that week.(TLC935 Surprise Heart Fold 1/23/2023 by ruby-heartedmom at Splitcoaststampers )
And Ky's MIX518 because I wanted to try the recent Misted Marker Vellum tutorial (Misted Marker Vellum Tutorials at Splitcoaststampers ). I over-misted mine trying to get it to mix, and the butterflies that you can see don't show vivid colour, but you can see that there is a mix of shades.
I know there was a kissing technique challenge a while back, I didn't get round to looking it up but it was in my mind when I used a script stamp to kiss the solid butterfly stamp.
And Carlene was a great one for the USE IT challenge of the year. I took part in that all through 2015 when it gave me great motivation to use uninked stamps. I committed to using 4 unused stamps each month and enjoyed it. It's a very open challenge, so I am saying that the printed vellum for the butterflies was a very early purchase, heading on 20 years ago, and the Verve stamp I used for the butterfly and the foliage was a win back in the days when Verve were still a member company, along with Unity and I can't remember what other companies! So using those is definitely in the spirit of the USE IT challenge.
For the fold I used SU's current SAB paper, which is lovely and double-sided without the inside being too dominant. I used a large Sizzix butterfly on the front, and little IO ones on the inside, My oval is cut with Elizabeth Crafts dies, and the sentiment is from a Unity sympathy set.

You used your day off very very well...isn't nice to have time to be creative? Yes, Jean, you took the words out of my mouth. Understatement of the year! This is lovely, all the techniques tried are great!!!!!!!!!

This is lovely...so many beautiful details. I love the delicate wildflower images paired with the butterflies. And the sentiment on the little insert is a great one.

A perfect card, a beautiful fold, and comforting words. I think John will be touched to realize just how much this stamping community loved Carlene as well.

Yay! You got your IO butterfly dies and they look fabulous on this fabulous card. I love that you incorporated music on the butterflies; and you know I love butterflies too. That SU dp is gorgeous and makes the perfect platform for your design. The sentiment on the insert couldn't be better. And so kind that you honored Carlene with the USE IT challenge. Love it! Awesome card.
