It's that weird time of year where I have to make the transition out of Christmas cards. It's hard to get Christmas out of my head. I was a little stumped this morning, but I remember that I still hadn't made my card for the November Monthly Image Swap! It also helped to have such a nice inspiration Pinterest board. There were so many fabulous and fun clocks that I was a little overwhelmed, but when I saw this one I was inspired to make that clock with some of the strips that I keep in a box. I die cut it as a circle and it made a lovely background for the image that Vickie sent us. I'll admit that I didn't think I would enjoy coloring this image. I thought she needed patterns on her umbrella and skirt and it took me a little while to realize that I could just add some patterns myself. I just scribbled in some abstract flowers and I'm much happier now. Once I had the "clock" and the image colored, this all came together really quickly with the sentiment that Vickie sent us, a card base from a box and a few gems for sparkle.

Your oriental lady is beautifully coloured! I think your circle is very Asian looking as well and fits the style of your focal figure well. Gorgeous card!

I like that you chose to use strips that were left over. Pretty card with the Asian flair.

I hear you about the transition and yes, you can add patterns to anything! That is really a lovely image, I know someone else used it recently. Beautifully arranged and colored.
