We are Time Traveling today with Polly's challenge. I bring you Nikola Tesla. He was born in 1856. And he is most famous for discovering and inventing the rotating magnetic field, which we use without thinking every day in alternating currents, think electricity. Another of his inventions is the Tesla coil used in radio. I haven't heard how Elon's 'Tesla' came to be named, but might be fun to deep dive.
My jaunty man from Tim Holtz looks like he's plugged right into the grid. I used the Sizzix 'Circuit' embossing folder. It was fun to use the Gelato's to color the circuit background. His high collar is filled with Washi tapes.
This is a birthday card for an inquisitive male I know.
He'll love it. Thanks, Polly for inviting us to time travel today. You know the song 'Let's do the Time Warp again...

Love the monocle treatment! You got me curious, so I just googled it. The founder of Tesla the car company named it after Tesla the Inventor -- this occurred before Elon was connected to the company, so he had no say in it.

I enjoyed the info you shared, Susan. The monocle with chain is a very "inventive" idea for this Tesla guy. And that grid, isn't it getting lots of attention today....Your cards are always meaningful. Thanks for sharing~

I love using gelatos for colouring embossing, I think they're great for it. The monocle is definitely a blast from the past - I always think they must have been very uncomfortable. Yours is so well done, and I'm living the taped collar.

Susan, your work is not only artistic, but the thought that goes into each element is so thought through. I always learn something. LOVE the ball chain for the monocle cord! GREAT card!!

Hi, Susan! Your cards are always so engaging. Our curiosity and our eyes are focused on all this has to say. You are unique and just the best. Every detail has meaning- the name, the embossing, that chain monocle, the washi color. If you read through all the comments people are googling Tesla. See what you started. Good to be back in the gallery for a minute.
