I got the idea for stamping the plaid background from one of Kristina Werner's lessons in Online Card Classes' "Holiday Card Workshop 2022." I started with a panel of light blue cardstock, & stamped diagonal lines with one of the "Jumbo Stripes" stamps & Cornflower ink. By stamping on the diagonal, any imperfections in lining up the stamp don't show as much.
I stamped the first layer of the feather on vellum, & heat embossed with white embossing powder. Then I stamped the detail layer, & heat embossed with blue. I wasn't sure if it would work out, but I was pleasantly surprised it did. Finally, I die cut it with the coordinating die.
After adhering the feather - just at the end of the shaft - I heat embossed my greeting so that it nestles into the feather. I pierced a hole on either side of the feather shaft end, & threaded through some baker's twine. I tied it in a little bow, & cut off the excess. Finally, I adhered my panel to a white card base. Hopefully this will bring some comfort to a family who lost their infant son.

Lovely card and so peaceful. Great job on stamping the plaid bg -- I thought it was dp til I read your write up. The velum feather is delicate...perfect representation of an infant. I think the family will find your card very heartfelt. Beautiful job.
