Love your outta of the box thinking, Polly! Common cardboard? I think not. So many uses for the wonderful boxes beyond holding treasures, dishes, income tax receipts, new kicks! I knew I had to play 'Out of the Box'.
And Angie hosting the Free4All last week challenged us to use Dies, Dies, Dies (or fussy cutting). Thanks ladies. I love fussy cutting and tearing the 'board.
I used an unusual vintage wooden stamp by When the Rubber Hits the Road. My artist and easel was stamped with the 'Fallen Leaves' ink and lightly embossed. I fussy cut the canvas and man with his brush. The cardboard was torn gently to reveal those fun corrugated panels. I wanted to leave just enough smooth to be able to stamp a sentiment. I auditioned a yellow ink which 'ended up on the studio floor'...the Paradise blue won out. The man colored with Metallic Colored Pencils in a couple shades of blue/gray. How about that paint brush?
I added pieces torn from the cardboard to mirror the floor of my studio when I am playing. Does anyone else do that? The polka dots are from MME 'Home'. I used a heart punch to cut a few out to surround the quote.
Could you face a canvas larger than yourself for art? Or do you like a smaller canvas? How about ATC's? Junk Journals? Old books...I could go on forever...

That easel and your artist are the coolest! So clever. And the way you "prepared" your cardboard canvas is brilliant leaving a smooth space for more stamping! The extra cast offs on the bottom are something we can all identify with....LOL. LOVE this!! I guess i prefer a smaller canvas...it's fun to do an ATC but you really have to plan it out.

Thought provoking, very fun, and very cool, Susan. The mural bigger than myself would be hard, but tiny or junky I am good. Love where your mind took you on this wonderful card. Hugz
