I have loved Beauty and the Beast since I was very young, before it was Disney-fied. But the basic are still pretty much there. The original was written by Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve in 1740. It was re-written by Jeanne-Marie Leprince de Beaumont a few years later. I must have read her version because it contains two sisters, very demanding, self absorbed sisters, who are turned into statues at the end, forced to guard the palace after the Beast has been transformed. I don't remember if Belle is the original name, although it does mean 'Beauty.'
I created this as an homage to Angela Lansbury, who died this week. I have always loved her as an actress and she certainly made Mrs. Potts memorable.
As a child, I either read Nancy Drew or fairy tales and I so wish I still had a set of books my parents had, full of fairy tales and some obscure stories from other lands. Another favorite of mine is the Twelve Dancing Princesses. Thanks for the challenge!

Beauty and the beast was another one that entered my mind and I was sure I had a girl with a rose somewhere but finding my frog for a card for BIL worked out better
I love the elements you have worked together here

Oh - I loved the Twelve Dancing Princesses. I had a big illustrated Hans Christian Anderson, and the drawings for that were one of my favourites.
Super collage.
I have a fun Beauty and the Beast, I must check and see who did it. It's a stage play version, and has a little dragon called Mikey in it, and lovely line drawings.
