I very occasionally make an actual Halloween card but it's not a holiday I celebrate, so for this I just set Tim Holtz's cats in a spooky woodland setting. I added a birthday sentiment which was so well camouflaged that I ended up buffing on some rub-on to make it more visible. The woodland is a gel print from my stash, and the cats were cut from a cling wrap background piece made with Brushos and spray starch.

Sabrina, I love this so much! I love the background from your stash, I love the cats and love the amazing colors on this card. I am with you I don't send Halloween cards but my mom loves sending them to her grandkids and great grandkids, so I try to make a few every year for her. This is just incredible and a wonderfully inspired by Halloween but not a Halloween card perfect for the challenge. Thank you for this gorgeous sample.

Fabulous mixed media piece! I love that you used a book page for the bg and the darker, Halloweenish colors are so cool. Also the eclipse greeting is amazing!!

Those are some crazy cats! You can always tell by the tail. A great card Sabrina!

The birthday greeting is almost like a hidden message in the woods. Excellent job of creating a somewhat spooky vibe without the usual Halloween trappings.

WOW! how I love your background, Sabrini. I am trying to decide on how you accomplished it with text print and gel printing...I'm thinking start with text print, add tree stencil, and gel print through stencil? Anyway, it is fabulous...love the TH cats and HB die-cut sentiment! This would be a great card for my October son's birthday!
