I knew I wanted to use Sophia. I often add a tiny rolled rose to her hat, but was keeping this flat for international mailing, so she just gets a paper flower instead. I embossed my base and sponged and swiped with distress inks. I had some white mesh which I blackened with ink, and to make up for not having a rolled flower on the hat, I added a die-cut unrolled flower, cut from fine purple gauze. I added some feathers from Fine Feathers, and a sentiment using Art Journey's Dymo Words (or possibly the second set, I can never remember which is which).
I would love to have added a hat pin, but again, keeping it slim for mailing.

Love this. Your details are fantastic -- you know, bulky cards look cool in photos, but I often wonder how the maker ever manages to mail them. Flat is our friend when it comes to the post office.

Love the netting you added behind Sophia. Don't want to cover her beautiful face. All your details look wonderful. I really like your inked embossed background!

Be still my fashion loving heart! I’ve visited your card several times this week not ready to leave a comment. A perfect response to the challenge! Sophia looks beautifully dressed in black…must confess stamp envy…those Rubber Romance images! The dressmakers ef, the texture of the black snippet, the pastel smear of colors, hip dynamo label. Lovely construction (art), mdf!

Ah yes, this femme fatale is quite the sophisticate. The netting and feather make me think of objects the milliner considered then discarded as she designed this hat - opting instead for a perky little flower as counterpoint to the stark black.
