This week's Featured Stamper, Carol Dee, is a card maker after my own heart -- we both love Mo Manning, Gerda Steiner and A Day for Daisies among others. Her Gallery is chock full of beautifully colored images and wonderful cards which made it tough to choose, but this sweet fairy admiring her footwear reminded me of an ADFD image. Sami Stamps #39 and Sketch Sat. #419 by Carol Dee at Splitcoaststampers
We both used a mystical being, aqua tones and a flourish (mine being rounded); but my image is a mermaid instead of a fairy and I placed her in a more watery setting. I created the bg with DOX layered and stenciled on a gel plate. The rest is just print, color, cut and paste then a few sequins for a bit of sparkle. The sentiment is computer generated using Arial and Snowflake fonts.
Congratulations Carol on being selected Featured Stamper this week. I saw many beloved images in your wonderful Gallery and it was like a trip down memory lane for me. I hope to get back and CASE another. In the meantime, enjoy your week in the spotlight. And, I hope everyone's wishes come true today. TFL

Fantastic case. Love the mermaid and her wish. Beautiful watery setting, as you called it. The round and star sequins are the perfect finishing touch. Great card!

Super cool image (great coloring), Debbie. That background is perfect too. So...I wonder if she gets legs when she comes ashore like the Little Mermaid, or she just wishes she could wear the shoes..... Regardless, it is a lovely case and card. Hugz

Your adorable little mermaid touches my heart .... I hope her wishes come true and she will someday be able to wear those lovely shoes!

Debbie, this is a great case of Carol's card. You have created such a whimsical and mystical scene and your coloring is wonderful. I love that tiny little shoe sitting on her fin!

What a beautiful way to honor the original card - both cards are lovely, similar yet different, like they could be companions in a boxed set. I can definitely see the tie back to the original card yet you made it your own but stayed true to the whimsical and mystical vibe. Perfect placement of the sequins for a little sparkle against the aqua background. Fintastic card!

I agree with all the comments. This is truly whimsical. I never thought of mermaids dreaming of wearing pretty shoes but a great theme and I love the card that inspired this too. Beautifully laid out. The dainty sequins mimmic pearls and starfish. Outstanding card.
