I got the idea for this card from the bkbarbieboop YouTube channel which is mainly videos showing how to use scraps and Dollar Tree supplies in cardmaking. She has a video on using washi tape, and she had several with words or saying on them that she was mounting on strips of cardstock and then cutting them up to stash for greetings. She also did some with cutting up little illustrations on washi tape that had images that had enough separation. I had some washi tape I had bought a few months ago at Dollar Tree but had not yet opened or played with, two with sayings on them and one with little cactus plants. I spent some time mounting on white cardstock strips and cutting up the pieces. After I had a pile of cactus pieces I wasn t sure what to do with them. I also had my one inch square punch out because I had been planning to make inchies, I grabbed some green paper that would go with the cactus pieces and punched 12 squares. I glued the washi cactus pieces to the squares and then glued the squares to a light pink cardstock piece. I ran this piece through my Big Shot with my favorite quilted texture embossing folder. Because of the different levels of the paper the embossing came out a little uneven but I still think it looks neat. I glued the pink piece to a khaki card base and added the washi tape greeting with foam tape for dimension.
Fun card designâ¦Iâll probably make some more with the cacti at some point, and will be checking my supplies to see if there are more I can play with this way!
