I needed to make an anniversary card, so I decided to use this week's sketch, which I turned horizontal in order to have enough room for all of the die cuts. The only stamping is the sentiment, and the rest of the elements are all die cuts.
I used a striped frame die to get the effect of the thin stripes behind the focal panel. I cut away some of the stripes by hand afterwards to match the sketch more closely.
I die cut the toaster, toast, jam jar and topper, and the splat of jam. I edged the toast with a brown marker to mimic the crust. I used kraft cardstock to look like whole wheat bread.
The sentiment started with "We go together like", which is not applicable in this case since the card is going to another couple, outside of my family. I used a small word die to change it to "You go together like" and then I carried the rest of the sentiment over to the front of the toaster.
The recipients will appreciate the playfulness of this card, so I went in that direction rather than something more formal. Inside it says Happy Anniversary.

Oh this is fabulous! And reminds me of the book, Tea and Jam for Francis, a book I use to read to our daughter when she was young. What a wonderful way to say, Happy Anniversary! And btw: I love the splat of jam (she smiles).
