I am thrilled to be participating in this week's Color Challenge as a Guest DT Member for the month of September!
I was a member of the original DT when the CC started many years ago so it's fun to be back, although I always struggle to create when I'm told what colors to use - no pressure, right?!
I am also happy to be sharing the guest DT honors with both Sandie and Linda this month!
So this week LeAnn would like us to use Poppy Parade, Crushed Curry and Garden Green. I don't have the SU colors so I used Pure Poppy, Summer Sunrise and Easter Grass.
I die cut the Sizzix Layered Jack O'Lantern out of Summer Sunrise, cutting the eye and mouth outline pieces from Pure Poppy and the stem from Easter Grass. Then I sponged over the face lines with carved pumpkin to give the face dept. The front of the jack 0'lantern is up on foam dots over the black base. I added green enamel dots as eyes inside the holes.
I die cut the Spooky from green and black and layered them together and adhered it to the DP with foam dots.
I think I got the dessert option which is fall!

Julia, what a splendid idea of using Halloween! I love your jack-0-lanterns enamel eyes, they just bring everything to life. The added sponging also provides depth and dimension... outstanding job! I'm thrilled you are participating as a guest designer this month too! TFS

Such a cute piece of dp and so perfect for these colors, Julia. Spooky is the right word for your jack-o-lantern. I remember when you were on the color design team and would choose mostly neutral colors...then Karen would freak out over them. Lol~

You certainly had the perfect dsp for today's colors and as a backdrop for this fabulous jack-o-lantern and greeting. I love the use of the enamel dots for the eyes!
