I thought the Faux Silk technique would go well with this image, to give it a vintage vibe. It actually took me 4 tries to get it right, though! The only plain tissue paper I had was white, and proved too bright for the look I was going for. So I tried inking it with Antique Linen Distress ink before stamping & adhering it to the cardstock panel. I dried the ink with my heat tool, then stamped the image with the Vintage Sepia. It seemed to work well, but when I used my glue stick to adhere it to the background cardstock, the ink on the sled got kind of bleached by the time the glue dried! It took me *only* 3 times of doing this to figure out it would just not work.
So on attempt #4, I took a slightly different approach. I stamped the image onto the white tissue paper, heat set the ink, crinkled the paper, smoothed it out, & went ahead & glued it with my glue stick to a brown cardstock panel. I let the glue dry several hours (I just had other things to do), then used an ink blending tool & Antique Linen to ink blend over the panel. That worked! Apparently inking the paper before was causing the wet glue to react with the Distress ink, hence the bleached effect. Finally, I die cut the panel with a "Cross-Stitched Rectangle" die.
I used my Tombow markers to color the bow, greenery, & bells on the sled, just to bring them out a bit more. I also went over the snow sections on the image with a white Prismacolor pencil.
I adhered my holly paper strip to the green plaid that I'd mounted to my white card base. I also adhered my image panel.
I inked a strip of ivory cardstock with Antique Linen, & stamped my greeting with Candied Apple Distress Oxide ink. I glued that in place, & that finished this card!
