My card for this week's Teapot Tuesday challenge, R.O.Y.G.B.I.V. with a Twist. As you can see, the rainbow color I went with is BLUE! And lots of it! Plus butterflies, bubbles (stencil), & burlap (stencil). And Bordering Blue re-inker...
The substrate I chose to work on is a used Shout ColorCatcher sheet (after it dried, of course!). These have a lovely cloth-like texture, and you never know what color they will come out of the washer! This one must have been in a load of new jeans. :-) I applied the Distress chipped sapphire ink to the sheet thru the Bubble stencil randomly with a blending brush.
I mixed the Bordering Blue re-inker with the Pearl paint, and applied thru the Burlap stencil, at random, with a palette knife. I did the same with the Salty Ocean re-inker, applied thru bits of the Beautiful Butterflies stencil. The Pearl paint makes both appear a bit more silvery, at least in the photo.
Stamped and fussy-cut one of the butterflies from the stamp set twice, and popped them up with a bit of foam tape.
I find blue to be a peaceful, calming color, and I hope our recipient will, too! TFL!

I agree -- blue is a beautiful, peaceful color and so is this card. Love that you used a Shout sheet for the bg. All the stenciling looks great. I have never used one of these and I'm impressed at how well it takes the media and that it lays so flat. Beautiful bg for those lovely butterflies and that great sentiment. Wonderful card.

oh my - this card is absolutely gorgeous ! I have heard of the shout sheets but never tried any... this card is very impressive with the results you were able to achieve. Love the butterflies. I just can't get over the awesome background !! This would be perfect for almost any card... I'm thinking I'm heading to my craft room and see what I can come up with that is similiar to this. Great card !

Oh, interesting! There must be great texture in that colour-catcher sheet, and I bet it takes the stencilled paste so well. Blue and butterfly is a great combination - I still remember a childhood holiday jigsaw puzzle that was a blue butterfly.
