Jeanne is our hostess in the Color Challenge this week, and she has asked us to make a card for "Summer" (dessert option). My thoughts immediately went to this little bathing beauty in her backyard pool. The colors this week are Orchid Oasis, Polished Pink and Daffodil Delight.
For the water in her pool, I used a technique called Glazed Distress Oxide. After applying Distress Oxide ink to glossy paper, Distress MicroGlaze is applied to the surface. Like magic, the normal, slightly chalky appearance of the inks disappears and the colors just shine. I only wish I had applied the lines of color in a horizontal direction instead of vertically. It looks to me like she's in front of a waterfall. Oh, well! And now you can't stop seeing the waterfall, either, right?
I cut the pool shape from white cardstock, and placed the water layer behind it. Popped my bathing beauty up on foam tape and added a few gems.
Thanks for stopping by and taking a look! Now let's see your summer cards!

OMGoodness - how totally adorable! She looks a little young to be drinking an alcoholic beverage, must be juice. Luv her fashionable kidney pool. Your coloring is fantastic!
