Well, I wish I had a lot more time today...well, I do and I will be back with more, even though I do have a commitment at 2 pm. What a great site, Julie! I think my daughter has ordered things from this site, rings a bell in my head. This is what inspired me: https://www.minted.com/product/art/M...g=photo&shape=
My starting point for today was to try a technique that I'm calling acrylic paint swiping. I used Dina Wakely paints because you can squeeze out small drops. I put dots of paint all over the cardstock, just plain old white cardstock and used a wide paint spreader to drag the paint down. The goal is to only swipe once. If you have extra paint left on the spreader, don't waste it, drag it down another piece. That's it! I know this isn't new but I don't remember doing it exactly like this. Whatever you use to drag, make sure it's as wide as your paper. A plastic ruler would be fine too.
So I had a play with this, made a few backgrounds, cut the background with a city die, found a short quote (don't know who said it), cut a small glittery moon and added some star sequins. I colored in a few windows with gold and clear glitter gel pens.

What a great technique - I will have to try it! It came out so nice on your card and I can see the similarity in colors to the inspiration piece. Your extra details like the glittery moon and colored windows are perfection!

What a neat card with all the cutouts and moon! Very beautifully painted too!
