I made this for Lisa's Quilted Background Challenge.
I knew that I wanted to use my hexagon punch. I had a stack of mixed media papers on my desk from the night before. I had fun making a mess with paint and inks on various different papers and card. I had this manilla folder piece that I had used for to apply leftover paint. I had stamped some images randomly. I knew that was screaming to be made into a 'quilt'. I also had a piece of manilla folder that I had applied extra brown paint to and it looked like dark coffee. So I used that as the background. I applied the hexagons with small dots of temporary adhesive so I could move them around. So to make them permanent I just ran a straight stitch across each row to simulate quilting on a real quilt. I pulled out a Sweet n Sassy Stamps set I had yet to ink up and used that for the sentiment, mug and stamping on the fabric scrap. I really love how this turned out and plan to make more cards using the fodder on my desk.
