Chris is our hostess in the Color Challenge this week, and she has put me in the Christmas mood with her palette: Poppy Parade, Pool Party and Crushed Curry, with the dessert option of dots.
These colors seemed perfect for my cute penguin, a die from about 5 years ago, that I've used only a few times. Cutting and assembling is pretty straightforward, and I added some sponged Pool Party ink to the scarf, ear muffs and even the edges of the penguin's body, to give the impression of dimension and winter cold. I used a white gel pen for the dots on his eyes, and while I was at it, reserved my dessert with some white dots on his ear muffs.
I combined this focal image with a fun fold design, Standing Pop-Up Card. This card folds flat and fits in a standard A2 envelope.
I hope you'll join us this week and try out these fun, bright colors! See you in the gallery!

Barbara your little penguin was a great idea for this week's colors, they worked perfectly! The dots on the ear muffs was a creative way to fulfill the dessert challenge too. Love it all including the fun fold!

Adorable penguins! Love your card design. You used the challenge colors so nicely to create your penguin and he matches the paper so well. Love the pop of color with the big candy cane. Great card!

Your poor penguin looks so cold. I suppose they are right in the middle of winter down there in the South Pole.
