I love the Splitcoast galleries! Just click GALLERY at the top of your screen to see the latest and greatest.
My card was inspired by DTGD21kittie747, Christmas Poinsettia by kittie747 at Splitcoaststampers which has amazed me for almost a year. I have been admiring Kitties detailed sculptures since forever, but confess some intimidation as I am primarily a stamper. Also I own NOTHING she used, so here was my plan:
My first challenge was the grid background and I decided to use Hexagon Hive, as my only other option was Striped Scallops and I felt this geometry was closer.
For holly and berries I considered several dies, finally choosing Birds & More. The flower petals were easy enough, as I have the Poinsettia dies. I grabbed Pretty Pines for the remaining foliage.
I am glitter-glue challenged, so I added the red stuff and put everything in another room so maybe all could safely dry (yay it worked). I also made yellow flower centers and added gold glitter-glue but that did not work out well.
It seemed easiest to me to secure everything on a brad, which I had intended to cover with - well never mind and glad I selected a pretty brad. I have a quart of assorted brads in a mason jar.
I opted not to make an envelope because I was sure it would not fit. This bucket-list item seems lovely and will make a nice decoration for the bedside table in our guest room (thanks Kittie).
