I read a Take Ten mag. for the 1st time ever this weekend and I have never seen so many cool cards, but the front says something about cards to make in 10 minutes, I don't think so! This was the hardest card I have ever attempted! Took me over an hour but it sure is cute.
Ok, there is a stamp on the back of this card that says "This card was made by hand, if you throw it away those same hands will make a doll in your image and stick pins in its butt"! Isn't that hilarious? I thought it was appropriate for a card that took me an hour to make...

gwtwdebbi - It was hard (for me) to cut the BG stamp in 4 different squares to match the words up and then to cut out the hearts in opposing colors to match the words again...it got really confusing but maybe that's just me...I'm sure there must be an easier way but couldnt find it yesterday!

I thought of something now that you said why it was hard for you; if you cut the squares and hearts first, line them up and stamp by definition once, then attach to your mat, it would be much easier; if I was casing from the magazine, I NEVER would have thought of that! If you have a square punch and a heart punch, I bet this would only take ten minutes! I'll have to test it out tonite!!! (cause it really is cute!).

Absolutely beautiful... I admire you, I wouldn't have even tried it without a heart punch. If you want to get rid of it... I will gladly give it a good home. Excellent card!!! I understand not having all the equipment for cardmaking and having to improvise.

hi all! that was my card in the take ten. first, good job jpmayo! i love the colors you chose. i admire you for all the trouble you went through to do your card. i was of course very excited to have my card published, but i was a little aggravated, in that they changed the directions i sent it with the card. my directions were much easier. just punch out four squares, then punch out four hearts out of the squares themselves. glue the squares down on the black panel. smooth each heart in a space in a contrasting colored square. now you have a completely level, smooth surface to stamp. stamp the definition background stamp one time over the entire piece and adhere to your card. it really is pretty simple. try it this way once and maybe you won't mind doing another. happy stamping!

I think this is a great card! I love the "other stamp" you used too. I'm going to get one of those (thnks for the link, btw).
Honestly, this is a great card! You did a great job on it! :-)
