Sue asked us to make a vintage style card for this week's Teapot Challenge. That's a hard style for me to pull off, and I went down several dead ends before coming up with this design (which could have used a little more color contrast, I know.) The image is from a set called Vintage Labels, stamped in sepia with a few spots colored with pencils. It's set inside a frame created with two sizes of a fancy label die, which was then embossed and the raised portion inked up with pink. The bottom of the label has a strip of paper lace, which was antiqued with some Antique Linen distress ink. The edges of the flowered panel also have Antique Linen on them. I used a musical score stamp on the blue before die-cutting the butterfly, although I used Versamark and the effect is pretty subtle. And I dug out a photo turn (is that the right word??), which I bought ages ago and I'm not sure I've ever one actually used before -- truly vintage stuff there. I do admire a good vintage card, and working on this really made me appreciate all the work that goes into one.

Smiling because I have that exact paper lace in pink and used a similar one in ecru on my card. Super job of accenting the embossed design on that label and a nice seque from the very Victorian floral pattern underneath.

I love the image and the embossed layer. These colors are perfect for a vintage design....you're probably not going to see bright colors from something that was made years ago (everything's faded...LOL). The photo turn works really well here as do the lace and butterfly. Lovely!

Wonderful stamped image. Your frame is what really caught my attention. Your inking of the embossing is so neat, I thought it was a die-cut lacy element laid over it.
