I thought about not posting my work for this week's Watercolor Wednesday Challenge. It's pretty chaotic at our home right now. Our daughter heads out for a 2-month trip to help with a summer camp for kids so there is a lot happening. I managed two attempts but I think if I had time for one more it would have been better. I liked my 2nd try until I added the grass. I think if I get the chance to use this tutorial again, I am going with watercolor wash bg and no grass. It was a fun practice! We hope you will join us!

Oooh I think you totally nailed that translucent look with the grass through the wings Angie ( on the one on the left) that is something I really had to keep adding more and more paint to get some color of leaves behind/through the wings.

I love these, Angie, and I love the blues you used. I am with Stacy about getting those grasses behind the wings. Gorgeous! I know what you mean about hectic.

Angie, both of these are beautifully done, I love how translucent the dragonflies wings look and both on a fabulous bg! My now 35 year old son went to Kenmont Camp in Connecticut to work as a Counsellor for 2 months, he loved it and worked there for 3 or 4 Summers. He got to see a great deal of your beautiful country on all those trips~

Both are fun and inspiring, Angie! Lovely job. Thanks so much for sharing!
Good luck with the summer chaos! (I am SO GLAD I don't have children this time of year - I don't think I could handle the hectic overload! Kudos to you my friend!)

Beautifully done! I think my favorite is the one on the upper left - the translucency of the wings is amazing but the sky on the other is really gorgeous and if I'm not mistaken, I see some awesome salt blooms!
