One of my favorite bee stamps is from the Stampin' Up! (SU) "Dragonfly Dreams" retired stamp set. The die that comes with it really doesn't suit my needs since it punches holes in the body and makes wings that just are "airy" enough. So I stamped the bees with black ink onto yellow cardstock, then fussy cut them out, including cutting off the wings. I then used Stazon black ink to stamp the bees again onto clear acetate, and fussy cut just the wings out (leaving a "bridge" between them, but otherwise tossing the clear bee bodies. I then use glue dots to attach the wings to the underneath of bees' bodies. I really like the results, and it's well worth the effort to do the fussy cutting.
Next, I use the same yellow cardstock cut to 3-3/4"x 5" to emboss the honeycomb, but first use a brayer to ink up the "solid" side of the folder so the "inside" of the honeycomb cellos will be darker. This enhances the 3D effect.
I matted the woodgrain pattern paper with SU Early Espresso cardstock, then used one of the SU "Layering Diorama" dies to cut a natural looking "hole" in it.
Next I used foam tape around the edges of the embossed yellow honeycomb layer and attached to the back of the woodgrain piece.
To make the sentiment, I couldn't find anything that really fit with the "bee" theme, so used the free Brother Canvas Workspace software to write out the sentiment using the Cairo font on my computer. I sized it to fit the area I wanted, then drew it out on my ScanNCut. The sentiment was then die cut with the second smallest diorama die. I glued it to a scrap of dark brown cardstock and used paper snips to shape the mat similar to the yellow die cut piece.
The final step was to attach the bees. I place two on the edge of the honey to show off their transparent wings and make it look like they are eating the honeycomb. The third I attached with foam tape so it looks like it was at the end of a flight path I created when I made the sentiment.
I like the results since it can be sent to either a lady or guy friend. I am rating the difficulty level as a "3" out of a possible "5" since you really don't have to use a digital cutting/drawing machine to create your sentiment if you have a suitable in your stamp collection.
