It's that time again, the last Tuesday of the month. We swap cards keeping it a surprise until they arrive in mailboxes 'cross the world. Our hostess, hotwheels (Linda) asked us to make cards in memory of her sweet mother. We even had pictures of several beautiful teapots to use to inspire us.
As a side note, I've been pondering sardine tins lately. I love the scale and have several ideas floating around! For this challenge, I thought of all the beautiful Delft Blue dishes that have been made since 1563! My stack of teacups and pitcher were perfect stamped in the 'Majestic Blue' and embossed with Super Fine Ranger Clear ep. I fussy cut both images.
In to the sardine tin I put several of my very favorite teas. I hope whoever receives this will enjoy them as well. I used Washi tape around the edges.
Thanks for the challenge to honor your mom, Linda! I'll enjoy browsing the gallery. Thank you for stopping by.

What a fun project - I see why you said "card" in your pm. I'll make sure you are sending this within the US. That blue is the perfect shade. From the thumb I thought Willow Pattern, but I see it's a whole variety of different patterns. The tin intrigues me - it's a long time since I bought sardines but last time I did, it was one of those tins with a key to roll the top back.

Yes, I often sit and ponder sardine tins....LOL..You are so funny! But I can see where this lead you to your tea project. How fun to include your fav tea in this tickle! And those Delft cups and teapot are perfect...I've actually been to Delft Holland so this brings back memories. Such a clever "card".

Whodathunkit! What a delight to have caught this floating through the gallery. You have the most wonderful, off the wall creativity. I love seeing it play out! This is the funkiest way to repurpose a sardine can, Susan. Kudos😊 The Blue delft, loose teas, and lovely labels bring this together beautifully. My interest in sardines was developed when my mom would mash them on crackers as her special treat alone! WHAT...no sharsies! They MUST be good

This is totally intriguing - at first, I thought this had a see-through window but that may be the DP. I am so curious as to how you actually made a lid for this because my experience with both sardines and kippers has been the "roll back' lids Sabrina mentioned. The Delft ware is just perfect for this challenge.

Sardine tins and Altoid boxes, nifty little containers that just scream to be decorated and cherished. How do you remove the fishy smell? and the oil? Whatever you did to it, the gift looks sweet. Love the Delft blue teacups, too.

What a beautiful collage created on a sardine can!!! I'm with who'd a thunk! Starting with the sardine can would have limited any possibility of creation on this end, but you're amazing....beautiful!
