This feminine birthday card was created for two challenges:
Retro Rubber Challenge Blog #181 ( https://www.retrorubberchallengeblog...tacs-toes.html ) in which I used eight out of the nine tic-tac-toe squares (rectangle, pattern paper, flowers, dry embossing, bling, die cut, vellum, and ribbon), AND used the 2014 Stampin' Up! (SU) stamp set "Endless Birthday Wishes". Part of the challenge was to use a stamp that was at least one year old, I think my 8-year old stamp fit the bill!
I started by cutting the white front card panel to 4"x 5-1/4" , then die cut the circle near the top center. Next I ran the piece through my Big Shot inside the SU "Tasteful Texture" embossing folder, then once again using the SU "Stitched With Whimsy" embossing die to add the faux stitchery per the TMS sketch.
I then cut a square of SU vellum, and the SU "All My Love" floral pattern paper and glued first the vellum then the paper behind the circle opening. This front panel was then attached to the card base using foam tape for dimension.
To create the sentiment element, I first stamped "birthday wishes" onto white cardstock using SU Melon Mambo ink, then used the VERY retired SU "Labels Collection" die to cut the sentiment out. Note that I felt the die was too tall, so used the die a second time to trim the bottom fourth of the label off. Then used the full die to cut a mat the same color as the card base. This assembly was backed with foam tape and a pink ribbon glued behind it before it was attached to the card front.
I think this will make a very nice birthday card for a friend whose birthday is coming up next month! I am rating the difficulty level of this card as a "2" out of a possible "5".
