Yesterday's challenges: F4A-pink background; MIX-Earth Day. I was a wanna be hippie, too chicken.
My sentiment is a quote from John Muir, father of the National Parks and a student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (never graduated). His family immigrated from England to a farm near Portage, WI in 1849.
Earth Day 1970, the very first! I was a senior in high school, sitting in the brand new auditorium at the high school, watching a program about it. Gaylord Anton Nelson, Senator (D) and Governor of Wisconsin, was the founder of Earth Day. There is an environmental institute at UW-Madison, a wilderness in the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore, an elementary school in Clear Lake and a state park near Waunakee, WI, all named after him. Earth Day is near and dear to this Wisconsinite's heart.
I chose this from Amy's fabulous board of hats: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/479492691639383485/
I already had the background, was considering it for yesterday's challenges. Had to happen, right?! And you know I love to recycle postage stamps. The top stamp is from Lithuania. We are all connected, all over the world, with the health of the land, air, water, people and wildlife. We need to be less focused on our small, little selves.

Great piece! Love your colors and the story with it. Couldn’t agree more! I may have only been 4 months old on that first Earth Day, but I am a tree-hugging nature nut through and through.
