I tried to go into my second card with "a Plan" - that being to make this a Christmas card. I did manage "the D word" by telling myself I was just "sketching in some small details" - lol I used Bright red and Carmine to paint my blocks then spattered with Solar Gold. Stamped & embossed the sentiment and SKETCHED in the decorative details (the exception being the snowflakes.)
I had intended to frame my piece in black and then gold metallic but the square in a square in a square felt boring so I opted for stamped and embossed gold snowflakes. Yes - I probably went overboard on these but then again much of holiday decor tends toward over abundance and opulence. (and what's done is done)

Your red and gold blocks look great and you did not go overboard on anything. Love your doodling and the pretty snowflakes. You did make spirits bright.

Glad you got a chance to make another card with this technique. Your added embossing really gives in a festive feel. The added gold is always a good idea. Like the doodling. TFS
