Sometimes things just come together, don't they? I need a birthday card for my sister Janet, 58 years old on April 29, and I had already done this pansy panel because I'm trying to challenge myself to color more. I have never loved coloring, even as a child; it is not a go-to technique. I think I'm too impatient, don't like to putz.
I had some fun coloring this old, wood mounted PSX pansy stamp after I stamped and heat embossed in the black. I didn't really worry about authenticity of colors and I do like the whole array of pansy colors. I am looking forward to having a pot of pansies, although right now, it is snowing in SE WI. It isn't sticking to the sidewalks but the green grass is pretty well covered. No point in complaining but I'm thinking of playing some Christmas music. Ho ho ho.
For today's TLC, faux tearing, I used three Distress inks in three layers, just moving the masking paper down a bit. Thanks to Lee and Lyn for the combo of challenges!
My sister and I are almost 12 years apart. Not much in common back then but now, the years don't matter. In fact, sometimes I feel like she wants to be the older sister. Much more of an 'in charge' person. We are opposite in many things, except where it really counts.

Your birthday card is beautiful with those pansies. You colored them beautifully....would have never thought you didn't like coloring. I like the colors for the tearing to match the pansy colors. You have reminded me I have a pansy stamp or two....thanks.

Beautiful coloring, especially for someone who doesn't enjoy it. Your sis will love it!

Your pansies are gorgeous, Jean. I reckoned that had to be a PSX. One of the first flowers I grew as a child, and I loved all the different colours. I like the ombre effect with your faux torn edges.
