This card was made for my husband for Father's Day. I was inspired by a sketch challenge whose optional them is "masculine", and a second challenge that asks that we use "stripes or plaid".
For the stripe element I chose a cool pattern from the retired Stampin' Up! (SU) "Go Wild" designer series paper stack. I really like the striped "arrow" pattern, and thought it was perfect for a guy card. The dotted vertical element along the left side of the card is from the same paper stack.
The sentiment from the retired SU "Truly Tailored" stamp set was stamped with black ink onto white cardstock, then punched out using the SU "Tailored Tag" punch. To create the oval element in the sketch, I used vellum that was die cut using the SU "Stitched Shapes" die set. I glued the punched sentiment to the far left of the oval, the cut the right side off even with the tag. I didn't want to hide the cool stripes, nor have the oval overwhelm the card front,,, hence the vellum.
The final step was two black faceted "stones" in the upper left of the card front.
I am rating the difficulty level for this card as a "1" out of a possible "5". It's super easy to make, and I think classically masculine.
