Hello and TFL!
Here is a card where I recycled a KLEENEX BOX, all the butterflies here are from that box. I split the cardboard in half --- by DIE CUTTING FIRST, the butterflies from the full strength box. Then I laid a moist stamp cleaning shammy on top of the butterfly die for just a minute and then PULLED the cardboard in half. Leaving the colored page layer AND the brown cardboard layer as two matching separate pieces. I did this to A LOT of butterflies.. hahah.. so i will have some to do another time. I loved it the outcome of the thinner cardboard. shape-able made it the very best.
I finger painted white Gesso on both the Vintage Burlap bg (wing strokes, I hoped) and on the Kleenex brown cardboard butterflies (the 2 small ones at the bottom)
I stamped the S U Butterfly Wishes stamp set floral stem onto the small butterfly bottom left AND if you look closely the INSIDE - Right Wing of the very large butterfly in the middle. (there are 2 wings on that side)
I stamped the S U Butterfly Wishes stamp set Butterfly (in distress black) on the small wing on bottom right. curved it and layered it on top of the colored Kleenex box wing.
I sponged Black Soot distress around the edges of the wings and it took well, even on the semi-shiny Kleenex box patterned paper.
I sewed the wings with a sewing machine at the top left (white Kleenex box pattern wing) and the lower right wing that was stamped with the S U Butterfly Wishes stamp on top of the wing that was gesso'd.
I printed the words from my computer and layered them on S U Basic Black paper. set them up on dimensionals. Also used Black dimensionals under the very TOP RIGHT curved Kleenex patterned wing (in orange) that stands up curved enough that in person you can clearly see the brown cardboard wing underneath, stamped with the floral stem stamp.
This card is for an artist friend of mine, and RECYLED or something strange, ... is just up her alley and when she gets this (hand delivered) card later this week, I know she will find it super fun!!
different... love expressed, and FUN!
hope this encouraged someone to use some of the pretty patterns that KLEENEX gives to you ... : )

I love this, Teresa. I totally got the wing movement of your white paint before I even read about. The double layers are great and the whole feel is outstanding. Your friend will treasure this creative and artistic card. Hugz to you and so glad to see you posting a new creation.

Oh wow this is so cool, I can't tell you how many tissue boxes I have ready to play with, I love how you used them with the butterflies and I like your use of the gesso on the background too. Like the stitching on it too!
