I had to cut my masking tape down since it was much too wide to be trees. I thought this was a neat technique to do birches. Because these birches were thinner, I couldn't use the "credit card swipe" or it would have covered the entire trunk. I chose to do a little scene where the birches were still the focal point.

Sallie, your watercoloring always blows me away. This is gorgeous, and I love how the bg paper has a wood grain effect to it. Another stunner that deserves to be on your wall.

I have never seen a birch tree IRL and to date the pics I'd seen were mostly of the bark. It's fun to see your "real life" painting showing all the beautiful foliage, too. I need to go back and read the article I ran across on why they are planted in threes. Nicely done on the trees fading into the distance, too.

Beautiful serene pastoral watercolor painting with the gorgeous birch trees as the star of the show. I'm so impressed and inspired by your artistry. TFS.
