This is for today's TLC...thanks, Beverly. I followed the tutorial; I'm with Beverly on folds but I didn't have any issues with that. What took so long was finding paper and deciding how to decorate. I thought I'd make a couple of these for my granddaughters for Spring, I have to mail them so I couldn't put anything on with a lot of dimension. Boy, did I fuss around with this. I was sure I had some fairly flat purchased flowers that would work but the colors were wrong.
I intended this as a prototype but maybe it's ok to mail. I know the button adds bulk but I think I can make it work. The only thing I didn't like with the tutorial was that the fold shows on the front piece. Covering it with the strip of paper solved that. I have a stamp that says Happy Spring, I think I'll put that inside. The cotton thread is some old darning type thread that my Grandma had. Maybe she crocheted with it?

That is so fresh and pretty and just perfect for Spring, Jean. Great button, and I love the butterfly.
I kind of felt the same about the folded line - I knew I could get round it by tracing the shape and trimming it, but then I just told myself that most kites have a strut down the centre anyway so just live with it. I like your solution.

The fold on the front didn't disturb me, it reminds me the kite's flying here in the sky, they've got crossed lines, I love your butterfly and button and you've found pretty papers to make this Spring Kite Card
