I didn't know what to do when I visited his website gallery, but now I'm back home, and I've got more possibilities and ideas.
Repairing the world...where and how to start...
I've took a background from my stash, made with acrylic paints, tore it in 2 parts and inked the edges with brown pigment ink, doodled the borders with faux stitching, punched holes in both parts used tape to glue the outer edges and sewed both parts together, stapled on 2 sides added the cut of parts cut in 4 and hand wrote repair, reset, caring, love in French, stamped some images and layered on black base.

That is a great take on the inspiration artwork - and would be a super card for your DH! The staples really add to the masculine feel. I like the twine lacing. I was thinking it would be fun to do something like that with eyelets.
