We're visiting the Fine Art America site for IC850. Wowow! They have some amazing artwork! I was drawn to this butterfly print (shown on my computer screen next to my card): https://fineartamerica.com/featured/...cavalaris.html The artwork is butterfly "flowers" on long stems in blues, greens and peach. The print was made using alcohol inks and digital painting.
The concept of "butterfly flowers" made me think of the Stampendous Flowerfly stamp right away. And I thought it'd be fun to create my own designer paper for the background in the style of the long stems in the painting.
On alcohol ink paper, use a paint brush and alcohol blending solution to "paint" loose lines of alcohol inks mainly in blues and greens. Dry the panel; draw some wavy lines sort of between the colors using a black Sharpie marker; spritz the panel with isopropyl alcohol to add splatters & dry it again. Trim to fit card front.
Stamp Flowerfly on white cardstock. Die cut using stitched square die. Color wings using peach, green, and purple chalks (very hard to see the chalk coloring in the photo!). Color flowers using colored pencils. Edge panel in pastel green chalk.
On the front of an A2 cream card base, stamp the sentiment in SU Coastal Cabana ink. Adhere alcohol ink panel and flowerfly panel. Thanks for the inspiration and TFL!
