First off these are not Tim Holtz "people"....they are my actual grandparents. I love this picture of them...it's probably 100 years old and was taken when they were first married. Of course I never knew them at this time in their lives. I love that they look so happy and carefree and those old timey bathing outfits just crack me up. My grandpa's socks held up by garters are hilarious!
As far as making the tag...I started off with ink sprays and then sponged DO ink on top. I added acrylic paint thru stencils, added some cheesecloth, and other embellishments...then I sewed here and there and around the edges. I finished it off with some seam binding and fibers. I had so much fun making this.

What a treasure, Pol! Every detail perfectly adds to the story. Your use of these old pics has me wanting to dig in my family stash of bent, torn, and curled media. Awesome love ‘letter’ to your family. Fav’d

I adore your creation, Polly. Never knew any of my grandparents and often wondered how our lives would have been different if we had had that opportunity. Here's to more fun and artful connection!
