I decided to combine the Friday Free for All challenge and the Saturday inspiration challenge and use the inspirations from the Baba Souk site to inspire a Mothers Day card. I picked this inspiration:
And decided to make a card echoing the arrangement of ring dishes. I chose papers close to the inspiration photo colors from a pad of Colorbok marble look paper, and some navy blue from a Hot Buys Christmas pad. I used a punch to make the circle shapes and a small hexagon die from the hello beautiful/ Beautiful Shapes die set for the hexies. I cut a piece of light pink cardstock a little smaller than the white card front, and arranged the shapes on it and glued down. The navy ones looked a little plain so I added a circle of gold dots with a paint pen on each of them, similar to the decoration on them in inspiration photo. I trimmed off the overhanging bits of the shapes and attached my background to the card front.
I didn't have any specific Mothers Day sentiments that would work, so I used the âItâs Your Dayâ sentiment from the SU Happiest of Birthdays set. I stamped the sentiment on a scrap of white cardstock and cut out with a rectangle die, then cut a larger rectangle from the navy paper. I attached them together with the right edges flush and attached to the card front with foam tape. I finished by adding a line of gold dots on the wider edge of the navy rectangle.
USEIT2022- first use of the marble paper pad which I got sometime last year, and also the gold paint pen. Was happy to use the Beautiful Shapes dies, which I love and plan to use a lot more!
