Started with a piece of paste paper on Arches Text Wove. The real challenge was from DH's calligraphy club. They gave us the paper, already cut to size. It was paste paper and already had pinks and greens on it. We were to create a tribute for someone they wanted to thank for their service. NO LAYERS ALLOWED! (That was the hardest part for me--besides the part where I don't do calligraphy.)
I added some color to the paper--DTP style, emphasizing the colors that were already there.
I also distressed the edges because two sides were natural sides and two sides had been cut. I distressed all of them with tearing and roughing them up. There were some spots of color on the edges too, so I added more color to the edges and finished with shimmer paint all around the edges.
The flowers were first colored by pulling the ink that was already there on the petals. Then I added markers. The stems also have green gel pen details. Finished the flowers with Wink of Stella.
The extent of the hand-lettering on this is my simple additions: *I want to* and *Just like you*. The sentiments were from an education set by Simon Says Stamp.
It is signed on the back (as well as a bit more stamping.)
