I saw a Laurel Beard video a while ago where she described her âmagic mugâ, a desk container where she throws all the bits and pieces leftover from card projects, that she periodically empties and makes cards from. I adopted the magic mug on my desk, and today I made cards from it.
I wanted to make a St Patrickâs Day card for the Free for All green card challenge, and I started with the wreath, which had been cut from a white card to make a negative space for an inlay die design for another card a couple of weeks ago. The leftover white wreath had gone into the magic mug and came out today.
I cut the shamrock shape from a green card base and used crushed olive and mown grass distress oxide inks to blend color onto the wreath die cut and a scrap white cardstock big enough to fill the shamrock âwindowâ in the card. I glued the card scrap in place behind the cut out window, and glued the wreath to the front of the card. I stamped the sentiment with the mown grass ink onto another white cardstock scrap, then punched out with the modern label die and attached to the card front. The green shamrock cut from the card front went into the magic mug for another day!
USEIT2022: magic mug contents, green card base is one of the last handful from a Michaels Hot Buys box of green and red cards from several Christmases ago!
