The teapotters are sending cards to Berniece (Gracie's mom-JRHolbrook). Berniece loves red cardinals and feeding the birds and squirrels. I was inspired by a Christmas card I rec'd this year and had been wanting to make something like it and so Berniece's loves worked perfectly. Polly's challenge was to share what brings us joy. I love wintry cards, Christmas, snow- living in the Pacific Northwest- we do not endure the long cold hard winters that some do, my birthday is in Jan. and my maiden name was Winter, not lying, lol! I embossed my snowflakes first, keeping in mind where I wanted to put the birds and branches. I first used liquid applique on the branches but when it dried was not what I liked, so I added some Stickles. I was part way thru posting this and decided to add a little squirrel. Can you see his/her tiny acorn? Thank you Karen for the squirrel dies. Cardinals and squirrel are popped up with mini dimensionals. Top fold card. I hope Berniece is cheered up by all the cards being sent her way.

Well you had the perfect dies to make the perfect card for Berniece. I adore that cute squirrel and I did see his acorn. I'm sure he'll be storing that away for a late snack this winter. And your cardinal die is just as fun. I loved your story. How great that your maiden name is Winter and that you love making wintry cards. I think that's fabulous. And I think your card is too.

Oh, Shirl, you created the perfect scene for my mom...it looks like her backyard with the squirrel and cardinals! She has a big bird feeder and, of course, a squirrel picnic table on her deck! LOL She will love your card! Thanks so much for making this for her! Hugs

This is such a sweet scene - I love it and I'm sure Gracie's mother will too. The little squirrel is adorable (even though I had to spend big money buying squirrel-proof feeders for our birds).
