I share a love and joy with this week's Tea Party guest, Berniece, as I too love to watch the birds in my backyard. I had intended to use a songbird that would be more like the birds I see, but ran across this cardinal in a newer stamp set I hadn't used yet. And since cardinals are Berniece's favorite, I thought it the better choice.
I used a Gelli Plate and the stencil with DOX inks to create the bg. The bird was colored and fussy cut and then he landed on a flourish branch. I love that quote from Mother Teresa. Anita (aka snietje) taught me that green is the color of hope. I hope Berniece enjoys this card and all the paper hugs she will be receiving from this fabulous group of Tea Potters. You guys at the best at spreading joy, encouragement and paper hugs around the world. E-hugs to you all. TFL

So pretty and what a perfect quote for today's Teaparty! I love watching cardinals, too...they really stand out if you live in a snowy climate like Berniece does. I'm sure she'll love this. Extra cookies for your tea today Debbie!

What a gorgeous green background for your beautiful cardinal! I love the quote by Mother Theresa! I'm sure this will bring a big smile to my mom's face!

The gel plate background is beautiful, Debbie. The big chubby cardinal (or maybe he's just puffed out in the cold!) is sweet and really catches the eye, but then I was drawn into the soft sort of translucent look of the background.
