The main focus for my card was to try to make a "junk" card for the Alphabet Challenge, and I had the perfect piece of "junk" mail that I had been saving for just such an occasion. I thought the picture with ticket information for the Shen Yun ballet would actually make a beautiful birthday celebration card, which will be saved for an April birthday for DD#2. I found 13 challenges in all for this card, listed below:
1) AOCC22 - All Occasions Card Challenge/ April 2022. An ongoing/monthly challenge that encourages you to set goals ahead for each month to help you complete and mail your cards more timely! This is a birthday card for DD#2 needed for April 2022 (I'm ahead...yay!).
2) USEIT2022 - Use It Challenge/ January 2022. An ongoing/ annual challenge that requires you to use OLD/ DUSTY and long unused items and/or OLD/NEW items purchased, never used, and seemingly forgotten! OLD: seam binding ribbon from stash; retired corner punch. NEW/OLD: "Celebrate" die, which I've had for over six months...opened package and used for the first time.
3) ABC16J10 - Alphabet Challenge/ Round 16 - Letter J = Junk - 1/19/22. My "junk" is the Shen Yun picture advertisement that I received in the mail several months ago announcing the ballets return to Seattle with ticket information that I made into a card. I would LOVE to go, but it's a little too much for me with Covid ramped up again! I'm thinking a birthday gift of tickets to my daughters and daughter-in-law would have been wonderful, celebrating early for three of us and on-time for my DD#2 whose birthday is in early April! I chopped off the title caption (though quite pretty) off the top and the dates, location, and www. info off the bottom, plus I had to whittle it down to her toes on the sides for it to become card size!
4) CT0122 - Fan Club Monthly Themes--January 2022/ Tutus & Twirls - 1/15/22. My card uses the theme required for ballet/ dance themes for the Shen Yum ballet due in Seattle in April 2022.
5) MSP53 - Misty Monday Challenge/ In Appreciation of MISTI - 1/3/22. Challenge: create a card using pink...MISTI's signature color.
6) MIX453 - Mix-ability Challenge/ Bountiful Harvest - 10/1/21. Challenge: use an image in your home, e.g., magazine pic, brochure, junk mail, etc. I've used an advertisement picture from junk mail. Mediums: Copic markers (die-cut coloring); pigment ink (edge distressing); computer ink (inside verse).
7) F4A589 - Free for All Challenge/ My Favorites - 6/4/21. Challenge: make a card showing something that is your favorite. My favorites featured: the ballet...a favorite evenings out; pretty ribbon/ bows; shades of pretty pinks to purples!
MMTPT635 - Teapot Challenge/ Cutting Corners - 9/22/20. Challenge: use photo corners or decorative corners. Teapotter loves music: the performance of Shen Yun will be full of music! I'm late to the party so this card will be saved to celebrate my youngest daughter's April birthday.
9) IC770 - Inspiration Challenge/ Pippin Poppycock - 9/5/20. My inspiration for these beautiful colors show in mood board picture and yarn colors: MB Rosie!
10) WT800 - Ways to Use It Challenge/ Let's Visit Asia (Safely)! - 7/2/20. Challenge: think Asian for your card...use your imagination. Shen Yun is all about China pre-Communism!
11) FS690 - Featured Stamper Challenge/ Gloria G-L-O-R-I-A! (aka Gloria Plunkett--designzbygloria SCS nickname) - 4/26/20. Gloria has a beautiful gallery to browse, and I chose this card for its layout and theme: Four Season Floral Birthday Card! I kept the basic layout, layers, and theme. I changed the sentiment to "Celebrate" and placed the die-cut on the ribbon instead of below. I used no patterned paper or stamps...instead I used the Shen Yun ballet picture advertisement received in the mail. I added a 3-loop bow and decorative punched corners + pearls.
12) S2S19GG - Stamp 2 Save (aka Stamp 2 Support One Another)/ Photo Cards - 8/22/19. A monthly challenge originally to make cards to earn credit to purchase more stamping products, but evolved into a place to fulfill the monthly challenge, make friends and support one another. My "photo" is from an advertisement including the picture and ticket information received in the mail re: this ballet returning to our area. I've been saving it for a possibly "junk" mail challenge!
13) CAS456 - Clean & Simple Challenge/ Gifts Galore! - 11/27/17. Challenge: make a card with gifts in mind. Tickets to Shen Yun would be the perfect birthday gift for this card. It comes to the Seattle area in April 2022!
Ingredients: SU Cardstocks--Blushing Bride, Melon Mambo. Recollections Glitter Paper (Copic colored). Celebrate die. SU Curvy Corner Trio punch. Recollections Colored Pearls. Shen Yun Advertisement Picture. Colorbox Chestnut Roan Ink (ink edge distressing). Size: 4-3/4" x 6".
