One of the ladies on Splitcoaststampers has a birthday in January, and she has kindly sent me a few cards over the years. I seem to always be behind the eight ball and never have enough cards finished to send timely to SCS friends. Even though that was still the case, I made up my mind that I would send her a card in January this year even if it was late. It is on the way!
Before beginning my card, I checked out my SCS Challenge List for possible fits and found 14 possible fits, listed below. Ultimately, I did end up casing one of my own past cards to fit the Fan Club More Is More Challenge for August 2021.
.1) MIX467 - Mix-ability Challenge/ Summer in Winter - 1/7/22. Make a card using summer colors. My card is bright and cheerful and uses summery colors instead of winter drab! Mediums: dye-based stamping ink, computer ink (inside verse), Wink of Stella-Gold on punch corner colors (inside).
.2) AOCC22 - All Occasions Card Challenge/ January 2022. An ongoing/monthly challenge encourages you to set goals ahead for each month to help you complete and mail your cards more timely! This is a much needed birthday card for a stamping friend's January birthday.
.3) USEIT2022 - Use It Challenge/ January 2022. An ongoing/ annual challenge that requires you to use OLD/ DUSTY and long unused items and/or OLD/NEW items purchased, never used, and seemingly forgotten! My OLD item(s): stamp set last used in 2018; DSP paper last used in 2018 as well.
.4) F4A619 - Free 4 All Challenge/ It's A Girl Thing - 12/31/21. Challenge: use girly things, ribbon, bows, polka dots, etc. I've used bubbly polka dots, ribbon with a bow, sequins, and bright colors on my card!
.5)WT858 - Ways to Use It Challenge/ International Bow Day - 8/19/21. Challenge...make a card with a bow.
.6) MIM0821 - Fan Club Monthly Challenge--August 2021/ Kitchen Sink - 8/16/21. My card follows the theme in that it uses this colorful dish pattern to help determine colors: Certified International Valencia.
It is for the More is More Challenge. I made a similar card several years ago, and did a remake adding more elements to my current card. Original card: Another Sister-in-Law to Celebrate! Here is my current card: Happiest of Birthdays for an SCS Friend!
.7) CAS630 - Clean & Simple Challenge/ Colorful Sentiment - 3/22/21. Challenge: a card with more than one color on the sentiment...I've used three.
.x ABC13Z26 - Alphabet Challenge/ Letter Z - 9/23/20. My card is a collection of zippy, zappy colors and patterns...lively and colorful, uplifting and energetic.
.x9) S2S20AUG - Save to Stamp (aka Stamp 2 Support One Another)/ August--Celebrating Friendship - 8/6/20. A monthly challenge originally to make cards to earn credit to purchase more stamping products, but evolved into a place to fulfill the monthly challenge, make friends and support one another. Challenge: make cards to celebrate friendship. I think of birthday cards as a way to celebrate friendships. This card is for an SCS friend's birthday.
.10)) MSP36 - Misty Mondays Challenge/ It's a Party - 8/1/20. Create a project with a party theme and confetti...mine also has a candle!
.11) MMTPT626 - Teapot Challenge/ Ribbon or Washi - 7/21/20. Challenge: use ribbon or washi on your card.
.12 FS688 - Featured Stamper Challenge/ Stampngokaren (aka Karen Decknick) - 4/12/20. Found this card with gorgeous colors to inspire me: It's Going To Get Better by stampngokaren at Splitcoaststampers It's Going to Get Better! I incorporated these beautiful summery, vibrant colors into my card with a totally different theme and layout.
.13) IC745 - Inspiration Challenge/ The Gray Muse - 3/14/20. I found this color wheel pin that inspired me to use as many bright and cheerful colors as possible to make a cheerful birthday card to brighten our winter days: Rainbow Color Wheel Enamel Pin!
.14) SC686 - Sketch Challenge/ 2/28/18. Sketch Tweak: #4 vertical strip move from more right to more left. #6/7 oval mat and sentiment...changed to a circle with circle mat; stamped right on circle rather than add the #8 narrow sentiment strip. I never would have thought that one candle on a card could look so good, but it certainly does on this card! Great idea to use the sentiment and sequins right there on the same panel. Lovely layout and fun colors too, Carlene~
