So fun to do Beverly's first challenge for the TLC! I think this is a great technique to have in one's back pocket and it's great that she found this technique so long ago.
I was pawing through my stash yesterday, looking for something else, when I came across a watercolor background I had done a while ago. It was stripes of greens/blue greens in different widths. I knew what the challenge was for today and could see it coming in handy, since it was in an ombre style. I cut it into strips, deciding to vary the widths a bit. They are popped up to make it more interesting. Kind of looks like paint chip strips.
So that was stash piece #1. Stash #2 are the flowers and leaves. I attend an SU technique club every month, mostly for the socialization. Karen, the demo, was saying that she had so many scraps and I asked if she wanted to get rid of any. She did, gave me a whole large baggie of them. I didn't expect this but much of it intact pieces, diecuts, not just cardstock scraps. The flowers/leaves were an embossing folder piece so I fussy cut them out; the flowers already had a little green in the centers so I added a bit more color and popped them up. A sentiment will be added eventually. Sequins finish this off. Thanks, Beverly!

Your background looks fantastic! I love the colors and the varying widths of the strips. Also, the embossed flowers are beautiful and have just the right touch of green. Turquoise sequins look perfect, too! Faved.

This was an interesting take with your watercolor scraps used as your background panels.

Your background is beautiful, Jean. Very much like some DP I bought for making envelopes . The matting really makes the strips pop. It's a layout I have always liked.

Just now found your card, and I happened on my paper for this challenge the same way, digging through scraps looking for something else! I love the way yours turned out!
