I wanted to try a technique where you squirt some Liquid Pearls, Nuvo Drops, whatever kind of product you have like those, onto paper and squish another piece of paper on top of that. So you get two for the price of one. Not sure that was the best outcome for me because I got two backgrounds that made me say 'what the heck are you doing, Jean?!' I added more LP in various places, not much better...continued to do that a few more times...meh. So then I decided to add some acrylic paint on top, dots, dashes and blobs...not a huge improvement, but I was feeling a little hopeful. I hoped the colors would blend a bit more like my inspiration piece, no go. Kept on playing, adding, standing back....sigh. Then I decided to mix up some acrylic paint and water and do a wash over it....ok, better. I did gold first, then a medium blue and finally black, all thinned out with water. Amazing the paper could handle it, since it's just cardstock and cheap at that.
In reality, it doesn't look that much like the inspiration, unless you can see that I tried to mimic the curved lines of color on the gift bag. I really veered far from the original colors but in the end, I kind of like this. Lots of texture and shine. Then I had to decide what to add. I've hardly ever used the sunburst die, the solid circle is the center of it and an art sentiment seemed enough, along with a few more dots of gold LP. And guess what...I have another piece almost exactly like this! Joy! I think part of the problem is that it is cold in my basement and the LP etc. just wouldn't move around like I hoped.
I really thought I'd do several projects today but I'm worn out...maybe tomorrow. Thanks, Amy! Calendars offer a lot of inspiration, for sure. I still buy a paper calendar every year, don't like to use my phone so much. I've been cheap the past two years...$ store for me.

Now, I'm tired. Ha I do see the curves with your colors and I love the gold die cuts on top. You are really creative and dig in when you do a card. I like that.
