At the risk of repeating myself, I need to tell you all a story: last night, I went to see a play called 'Toni Stone'. Toni Stone was the first woman to play for the Negro Baseball League in the late 1930s and beyond. At first she played for teams that traveled around the country, barnstorming for games. She eventually played for the Kansas City Monarchs, which is the team that Jackie Robinson and Hank Aaron played for, before major league was integrated. She was paid, as were the other players, but often, she was grossly underpaid and often had to agree to let pitchers go 'soft' on her. Humiliating! Unfortunately there was not much future for her beyond the Monarchs, she had married and her husband desired her to 'hang up her cleats.' She was quite the force to be reckoned with, could quote stats for male players like no other, and really struggled with the black female athlete stigma. A lot of sexual harassment, even from her teammates. Her best female friend, Millie, was a prostitute. In many ways, they still struggle today. This is exactly why I don't like to talk masculine/feminine...been there, done that, don't need to go back to that. I'm sorry if this is getting old but the fact is, I never create a card only for a man or woman (or at least, in my mind I don't). I rarely create a card for a specific person actually.
So this is my entry for today's F4A and Wednesday's WCW-a pink sky sunset. The reason there is that darker stripe of pink in the center is that I accidentally added a little yellow there, thinking I was grabbing pink. I tried to add more pink above it, nope, still there. I guess the sky could look like that, hard to predict sunsets or sunrises. They are what they are! I think we all love sunsets and sunrises. BTW, the clouds are created by dabbing with a paper towel while the paint is still wet. Thanks for the challenges!

This is gorgeous! It's a wonderful scene for both challenges. The colors are stunning and I love the reflection. Thanks for telling us about Toni Stone. I have two amazing guys in my life so I like to celebrate them occasionally but I do agree that inequality is hideous. (and they would agree as well) I am so glad you joined in the fun, you know Lydia says no card for a challenge is ever wrong so always feel free to interpret them the way you like!

That is an awesome watercolor of a beautifully sunset. And that sentiment is awesome as well - I see that getting on some of my future cards! Fav'd
As a women in male dominated career fields I am used to the hard talk and challenging times and I generally don't make male/female cards - just cards that speak to me in some way. So I hear you.

Lovely scene to fit the fantastic sentiment. Your waves you created really show movement. Like your clouds with the takeaway method. Enjoyed your creation . TFS
