Retro Rubber Challenge Blog #174 which asked that we use at least 3 pastel colors from their inspiration photo and a stamp that is at least 1 year old - mine is a retired Stampin' Up! (SU) set called "Dragonfly Dreams" that is from 2017, so that makes it 5 years old! ( https://www.retrorubberchallengeblog...74-dig-it.html )
I started with thick white cardstock and embossed the card front with the SU "Falling Snow" embossing folder. I then die cut a 2-5/8" square from the same cardstock using a rectangle die from the retired SU "Stitched Shapes" set. To give the feel of a fluttering dragonfly trail I also embossed the square with the SU "Stitched with Whimsy" die set. This square was mounted on the embossed card front using foam tape.
The large dragonfly from the SU "Dragonfly Dreams" was stamped onto thick white cardstock using black ink, then die cut using it's matching outline shape from the SU "Detailed Dragonfly" die set. I used four shades of pastel colors to color the dragonfly wings, then mounted it diagonally on top of the white square using foam tape.
The last step was to create a sentiment. Because Freshly Made Sketches requires the card to be "clean and fresh", I used just a simple sentiment. This what hot foiled onto thick white cardstock with black foil using a Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil machine, then die cut with the banner dies that come in the hot foil sentiment plate set.
I am rating the difficulty level to be a "2" out of a possible "5" since embossing, die cutting and foiling were all straightforward for this card. The simple sentiment makes the card appropriate for just about any occasion.
