This is my sample for the Color Challenge hosted by Jeanne. She selected terrific colors for Valentine's Day which is the dessert option. Chocolate, flowers, gift card are perfect for Heart Day!
At Christmastime, I stumbled upon a candy box and gift card holder in a cute Christmas theme here on SCS. It was created by Joyce aka Cookielady01.
I did not have time to try it out then, so I made note of it for later. Since I found Hershey Kisses wrapped in pink & red foil and a Michaels Craft store gift card in red, it was meant to be. I had fun making this box and coordinating card. FYI - Joyce has instructions and a video on her blog, which was so helpful.
I colored the flowers with Polished Pink then a little Poppy parade at the base of each petal. I colored the leaves and stems in Pear Pizzazz and a little Mossy Meadow (neutral) in the same manner. There are rhinestones in the flower centers.
The die-cut opening to display the candy was improvised. I do not have the die that Joyce used. So I adapted one with partial die-cutting to make the size longer, but I did not think about it being wider than what Joyce used, so it was tricky with the acetate. Note to self to get an appropriate sized die so I can create this box a little easier next time. It is a fun way to present a gift card and a little favorite treat.

I LOVE these Diane! That Kisses box is perfect for Valentine's Day. The heart with flowers is so pretty and your coloring is wonderful. Great use of the colors!

How cute are these Valentines, Diane! The gift card holder/treat box looks Adorable and I love that it is see-through! Pretty card to go with it too, wonderful use of the green~
