I have to admit I have struggled with this card for this week's Tea Party Guest, Kati. Kati is facing the end of her life and we are sending paper hugs her way. After many false starts, I landed here -- my attempt to be "artsy" for Kati the artist. There's probably way too much stuff on this, but I tried to incorporated many of Kati's loves:
--She loves the beach: I started with blue for the ocean. There are also seagulls, a shell and a starfish.
--She loves kids and photography: This stamp of a young girl reminds me of a photograph.
--She loves gardening: Three of these flowers were too large for the scene, so I scanned it into my computer and resized to get the slightly smaller one on the right.
--She loves music: It's a bit difficult to see, but I stenciled some musical notes near the top with Nuvo glitter paste. It's shinier IRL but still not obvious so I also stamped some musical notes about.
To make the card, I stamped the CHF stamp then dabbed gesso around the image to blur the rest of the stamp and just highlight the girl. Stenciled; pasted; stamped; added die cuts.
I don't think this is a "happy" card per se, but I do think it is peaceful and I hope when she spies the little bits of things she loves that it will also bring her some bits of joy. I hope your day is filled with bits of joy too. TFL

I love the background you have crafted for this card. The texture makes me think of the waves and clouds of the ocean and of course the gulls flying overhead. What a beautiful card full of thought provoking imagery!
Wow, I love how many things you were able to incorporate that have meaning to her! Looks fabulous with everything and I'm sure she will feel the TLC. Your 3 blooms and foliage really add the wow factor.

You have combined some wonderful images, some beautiful colors, and I can feel all the love you have included with the hugs. It touches my heart, Debbie.

A lovely card made with thoughtful consideration of Kati's favorites. We Teapotters often have a difficult assignment and you have succeeded with this wonderful card.

Debbie, I can just picture Kati holding your beautiful card and letting her eyes wander all about the card front as she absorbs all those special elements you incorporated just for her .... she will be so touched!

It's amazing, Debbie! You rocked this fabulously artsy card for Kati! I got excited when I spied the little shell and starfish and the darling little seagulls flying across the page. You got it all in there and there is no mistaking that this card was made specifically with Kati in mind and that realization is sure to bring joy to her last days.

Not too much stuff. This is a lovely piece of art. Very symbolic too. The pensive little girl, is eclipsed by the beauty of the flowers, the birds taking flight are symbolic of freedom. The texture is awesome. Fabulous card.
