Today's watercolor challenge gave us a video on Brushstroke techniques - specifically compound strokes to paint leaves.
I will freely admit 2 things - when I watched the video my first thought was "No way I can paint ANYTHING with my brush held at those ridiculous angles!" Secondly, as soon as I put paintbrush to paper, I didn't even notice the odd brush angles and the leaves flowed easily. In fact, MUCH easier than the circle strokes we learned the previous week! The hardest thing for me today was deciding how to turn leaves into a card as this is not a look I typically work with. Keeping it CAS with a simple "chop" for color seemed the best way to go.

Wow, Linda, you are such an expert at watercoloring. This looks fabulous. And, the CAS design is wonderful.

Each week our team tries to bring to our card makers different methods used in watercolor. With art there is no wrong way, we just need to have fun. But when someone takes an artist video and completely does it perfect, they will get a shout out from me. This week we have two such artists, Stacy and Linda (bubbles x4). They mastered the stroke perfectly and created some amazing leaves. Congrats to both of you. This comment will be under Linda's card. Fav'd
You did such a beautiful job with your leaves! The colors are gorgeous! I agree with you, I found this easier than the circles! This jumps out of the gallery!
