Ardyth promised us a Gallery filled with bold colors, simple shapes and fabulous techniques and this week's Featured Stamper, Leslie (aka leslielarkin) more than delivers. Just look at this wonderful card: Floating & Fluttering by leslielarkin at Splitcoaststampers
I love the happy and whimsical feel of her card and I especially love the die cut butterflies. So, I pulled out my whimsical butterfly stamps and stamped away and away and away til I found the color combo I liked. And, if you have this set with the die, my final lesson of the day was to cut the die first and then stamp, There are so many combinations on this stamp it's hard to get it aligned to the die...well at least for me.
I replaced her beautiful dp layer for a floral bg. I started with a yellow plaid paper in my stash than randomly stamped the petals in the same colors as the butterflies. I had intended to do a panel like Leslie's but I was so happy with how the stamped bg turned out I decided I didn't want to cover it. So, I went with the scallop frame instead.
While Leslie's sentiment was one of encouragement, I think mine could be used for a variety of occasions including a birthday (which is probably how it will get used).
Congratulations Leslie on being this week's Featured Stamper. Your Gallery is fabulous and inspirational and tons of fun to view. I hope everyone is having tons of fun today too. TFL.

Love your fun & whimsical butterflies. Beautiful stamped background; I thought it was printed paper until I read your description. Lovely! Fabulous colors. The scallop frame is a nice touch. Fantastic case and great card!

Thanks so much for choosing my card as a source of inspiration. Your card is beautifully, light, cheery and spring-like. (which we are all dreaming about right now)
I am enjoying seeing what cards everyone else picked. I didn't pick up on this one either. Love your soft take and sweet design. The frame is just right.

Wonderful creation - your bg is simply awesome. I love how you used the frame so that you didn't have to cover it up! Your butterflies are truly whimsical. A great card. Love it.
